Linksys router (7 posts)

I have used Fetch for many years to upload pictures on my providers ftp server. I just installed a Linksys wireless router and now I can't access my ftp. Invalid PORT command is the error code. I have never been able to get in with PASV checked so it must remain unchecked. I have tried lots of different setting in he router but nothing helps, it seems like it is sending in PASV anyhow.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,

We'd like some more information to help diagnose the problem.

After you try to connect and you get an error message, could you please choose Fetch Transcript from the Window menu, copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message?

We'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

Could you post a transcript from connecting to ftp.fetchsoftworks.com (leave the username and password fields blank)? It might help tell me whether the problem is your router, or your server.

    Thanks,

The fact that the PORT command works with ftp.fetchsoftworks.com makes me think this is a problem with your server, in combination with the router. You could try a different router, or talk to the server administrator about enabling passive mode.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback, I got a complicated answer from Linksys support, changing router seems like a better idea.
