    Hi,
We have tried many things to upload files from my Mac (OSX, Fetch 4.0.2 to a Window NT version 5 Server. It connects fine, but the dog keeps running when I try to upload files, or it says failed to make a data connection. Here is the Fetch Transcript for the sessions without the ftp address.

I've tried passive and unchecked passive mode. I checked and unchecked don't use MacB Probe command. The fellow who runs the server can't figure it out either. We would appreciate any help you may give us.
    Thanks,
    Susan

It looks like the server is behind a Network Address Translation (NAT) device. The address it is advertising (192.168.1.51) is a private, internal address; unless your Mac is on the same network as the server passive mode won't work.

So I would uncheck the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box and post the transcript you get then. I would also get Fetch 4.0.3 from http://fetchsoftworks.com .

    Thanks,

Thanks Jim- unchecking passive mode seemed to have done the trick.
    Thanks!
