To make that change on Mac OS 9 I'd use the program IPNetTuner, from Sustainable Softworks ( http://www.sustworks.com ).
I'd also talk to your ISP; you shouldn't have to change your maximum transmission unit (MTU).
Thanks,

Mac - OSX and OS9
Using a graphite Airport connected to a DSL hub, I am unable to upload files greater than 1492 bytes. I understand that this problem is to do with the "maximum transmission unit".
I am aware that in Mac-OSX I can issue a command from the terminal :
sudo ifconfig en1 mtu1492
which cures the problem. Is there someway of issuing a command and/or changing a preference within Fetch or elsewhere that would resolve the problem on machines running Mac-OS9?
Thanks
