Missing Line Breaks (4 posts)

    Sometimes when I download .html files from our server using Fetch, I open the file in BBedit to find that all the line breaks have been removed. Why? It doesn't happen all the time or with every file, but it is very frustrating when it does.

    Thank you for any help you can provide.

    So the entire file is displayed on one line in BBEdit? Could you send me the URL of one of the files?

    The funny thing is, when you view the source through the browser, it is fine (line breaks are intact). The line break removal seems to happen as the file is downloaded through Fetch. Thank you for your help!

    If you choose "View Text File" from the Remote menu in Fetch does the file display all on one line?

    I can't think of a way to make Fetch strip all the line endings from a file.
