Hi Thomas,
Yes, this should fix the problem:
When you use the Put command, change the setting of the "If a file already exists:" menu to "Replace existing file". Do not use "Pick a different name".
When this menu is set to "Pick a different name," Fetch asks the server to pick a new name for your files if ones with the same name already exist, so that your existing files are not replaced. Unfortunately, some servers pick names that have little relation to the file's original name. I believe this is what is happening to you.
Please let us know if this fixes the problem or not.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

I read your thread with the pureftp problems, and understand that you offered many "fixes" depending on how the files were edited.
But I am uploading files that have never been edited or opened. Doesn't matter how I upload them. I can upload them with another ftp program without any problems, but when I use Fetch, I get the problem. If I put all the individual files in a folder and upload the entire folder, I do not get the problem.
When I upload the file by itself, it gets named: something like this:
pureftpd.4991ef14.a3.0000
but if I stick it in a folder and upload it, it gets uploaded okay, but I need to be able to upload individual files in the right places. I have used earlier versions of Fetch without this problem.
I am using Fetch 5.3 on a Mac running 10.5.6
Any help?
