Why can't I upload an MP3? I'm on a G5 with panther and use itunes to convert wave files to mp3. I never had this problem with fetch 3 on my G4. My settings are on automatic and it's not a sever or ISP problem.

Anyone having this problem or know of a solution?

Could you choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Winodw menu and post the contents after you try an upload?

    Thanks,

Jim thanks for your reply! This is what i get in the transcript window......

    TYPE I
    200TYPE is now 8-bit binary
    PORT 192,168,1,100,112,117
    200 PORT command successful
    STOR newcombe_winter_mix.mp3
    150 Connecting to port 28789
    PWD
    257 "/web/rabeats" is current directory.

and 257 "/web/rabeats" is current directory repeats over and over

    and what started at 35,000 bytes/s with 19mins turns into 4,000 bytes/s with 1:24!

    I don't understand!

That's very strange. I would suggest checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences. Does that help? If not, could you post the entire contents of the Fetch Transcript window?

    Thanks,

i'm uploading an .rm file today and it seems any kind of large file has this problem. The .rm is about 20mb and it's happening again but I can upload .html and .gif all day long without problem... I'll try PASV..

    Thanks

Do large transfers appear to finish (i.e. the progress donut fills up) and then get stuck?

    Thanks,

Checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences worked.

    Thanks Jim
