    I have Snow Leopard. I downloaded the latest Fetch 5.5 and now my files won't upload any more. I keep getting stupid errors that the download stalls on files that are all of about 4.7kb!!!??

    Also, it's putting them as text files instead of HTML.
    :( I'm not very happy at the moment. I have a LOT of updates to do this week. Please help.

    Hi,

    If you are not using Fetch 5.5.2, which we just released on Monday, please download it and give it a try to see if it fixes these problems:

    http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download/Fetch_5.5.2.dmg

    There was a problem in Fetch 5.5.0 that caused stalls with uploads for some users.

    If you are already using Fetch 5.5.2, or it does not fix the problems, let us know and we will investigate further.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

    Fetch defaults to DreamWeaver, not BBedit when editing, Where do I change this?

    Hi Bruce,

    Do you get an error when you try to open Fetch? If not, could you describe what happens?

    And could you please confirm which version of Fetch you're trying to use?

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

    The Fetch icon bounces and bounces and bounces, but the program never opens. Eventually it stops, but it's still not open (although in Force Quit it looks open.) I downloaded 5.5.2 but it hasn't resolved the problem.

    Hi Bruce,

    That sounds like the behavior we're aware of for some earlier versions of Fetch 5 on Snow Leopard, but we haven't heard of that happening to Fetch 5.5.2.

    I realize you've probably done this already, but could you please do the following steps to double-check and make sure you're trying to open Fetch 5.5.2?

    * Make sure you've force quit any copy of Fetch that might be trying to open.
    * Go to our website and download a fresh copy of Fetch.
    * Double-click on the file named Fetch_5.5.2.dmg, if necessary - if the Fetch install window opens automatically, you don't need to do this.
    * Verify that the Fetch install window says "version 5.5" in the banner.
    * Instead of installing Fetch, double-click on the Fetch application in the install window.

    Does Fetch open?

    If not, we'll try to gather some information about what's going on with Fetch.

    Thanks,

    Hi Bruce,

    You're welcome, and I'm glad to hear that works - it shows that 5.5.2 does work on your Mac - but it's not a great long-term solution, because every time you restart your Mac you'd have to open the Fetch installer to run Fetch. So I think it would be better to get Fetch 5.5.2 installed permanently on your Mac.

    Here's what I'd suggest doing:

    * Quit Fetch if it's open.
    * If there's still a Fetch icon in your Dock, drag it to the Trash to remove it from the Dock. (We'll put one back later.)
    * Open your Applications folder.
    * Move all copies of Fetch inside the Applications folder to the Trash.
    * Open the Fetch install window, or the Fetch_5.5.2.dmg file to see the install window.
    * Verify that the Fetch install window says "version 5.5" in the banner.
    * Copy the Fetch from the install window to the Applications folder icon.
    * Open the Applications folder.
    * Drag Fetch to the Dock to add its icon to the Dock again. (This step is optional; if you don't want a Fetch icon in your Dock, you don't have to do this.)

    Then try opening Fetch and make sure it all works.

    Please let me know if you run into any problems or have any questions about the above.

    Thanks,

    Hi Vivian,

    I have reviewed our correspondence and I see that we have answered all the emails you sent to us in the past. The last message from you, previous to this morning, said that you thought you had found and fixed the problem, so as far as we knew the matter was resolved.

    I have answered you via email asking for more information about your current problem.

    Thanks,

    Hi Vivian,

    I sent the email several hours ago. If you have not received it yet, you may want to check your spam folder (even though what I sent was not very spammy).

    Here is what the email said:

    In order to try to figure out what is going on, we need to see a transcript, which is the record of the conversation Fetch has with the server.

    Could you please do the following?

    * Quit Fetch, if it's running.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Connect to your server.
    * Try uploading again.
    * After you receive the error, go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
    * Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and email them to us at bugs@fetchsoftworks.com .

    Thanks,
