    Bought a license a couple of years ago. I use Fetch very infrequently. Last time all settings worked to make a connection. Now (year later) all preset connections fail with error "no host by that name." Same with attempt to make new connection.

    What host name are you entering? Have you asked the server administrator if the server name has changed?

    Thanks,

    I have the same problem. It started 2 days ago.
    In addition, after "no host by this name"
    I get "password incorret".

    The host didn't change name, neither the password had been altered. None of the settings or the preferences had been changed since I bought and used Fetch, several moths ago.

    I am stuck with a problem I don't see in the troubleshooting list, and was left unclarified in this message board also.

    I would appreciate help.

    Could both of you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you see an error message? Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu. The information there may help me understand what's happening.

    Thanks,

    Keep getting the "error there is no host by that name"

    Here is the transcript

    Fetch 4.0.3 System 0x1032 Serial ****
    Using USER with no logon (aka USER user@host) proxy server host:ftp.tbaytel.net, port:21, userid:
    Connecting to ftp.tbaytel.net port 21 (12/21/03 3:36:38 PM)
    CStreamOTSocks::Connect(id = ffffffff) connecting to t"Yàø?Ô¿ port 36904 srcport 0 (name = ftp.tbaytel.net, real_remote_addr = 0x1, port = 21)

    LU: I'd try setting the Proxy Type pop-up menu in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences to "None"; does that help? If not, could you post that transcript?

    Thanks,
