When I try to log on to a server I get the message "Error on password: Non-SSL access to this server is not permitted." Can anyone help?

    Hi,

This means that the server does not allow plain, non-secure FTP connections. SSL is a kind of security protocol.

Fetch 5.2 supports making FTP with SSL connections (as well as SFTP connections, another secure protocol).

If you already have Fetch 5.2, choose "FTP with TLS/SSL" from the "Connect using" popup menu when connecting, and see if you can connect successfully.

If you have an earlier version of Fetch 5, Fetch 5.2 is a free update.

If you have Fetch 4, you can upgrade to Fetch 5 for $15. Please note that Fetch 5.2 will only run on Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,

I did download the update and at first it didn't work until I selected Connect by SFTP. Thank you.
