I have used Fetch for years with no problems. Now it is not accepting my password, though I did not change it. Any ideas what's going on?

Fetch sends whatever you enter to the server, it's the server that decides whether it's valid or not. So you need to contact whoever runs the server. If you are uploading a website, that'd be your web hosting company.

I have Fetch 5.7.7, and have been using the app for years with no problems, mainly to connect with my Hostway ftp account, for which I was recently required to change my password. Having successfully done this, I now find that when I enter my HW id and password via my 1Password app, I get an "incorrect login" response. But when I use 1Password to go directly into my account at HW, I have no difficulty. I have repeated these two operations several time, with consistent results.

A clue to the problem may be the statement regarding the OS X firewall in the following excerpt from my Fetch Transcript file:
    - - - -
Connecting to chem1.com port 21 (Mac OS X firewall is limiting connections to specific applications) (2019-05-04, 12:07 PM)
    Connected to 64.71.33.147 port 21 (2019-05-04, 12:07 PM)
    220 Welcome.
    USER 0245365
    331 Please specify the password.
    PASS
    530 Login incorrect.
    ----

Looking at my OS X privacy:firewall settings, I see that I have fetch.app set to "allow incoming connections". I am not very conversant with firewall stuff, and wonder if I have missed something?

I have been using both Fetch and HW for over 20 years with no difficulty. The only thing that has recently changed, is that I recently upgraded my Mac Pro to run Mohave, which I notice is much more particular about security.

    Hi,

The firewall setting would not affect how your password is sent. My best guess is that the two ways you are accessing Hostway (via Fetch and via your web browser) require different passwords. Hostway's people are the only ones who can sort this out, because it's their server that is telling you that the password you are entering is not correct.

    Thanks,
