I downloaded Stuffit, but when I tried to "drop Fetchit over it" as you suggested, the same box popped up, "- - application program that created it could not be found". Same response when I tried to activate Stuffit alone. Thanks for yr time & consideration, Jim. Bob Crawford.

What happens if you just double-click on the StuffIt Expander icon? Do you have a StuffIt Expander icon?

    Thanks,

Jim: Same response to StuffitSTD701 Classic.sit, which I downloaded after the Standard.sit didn't work. This time, after telling me again that the application program couldn't be found, I was also shown a box with the advice, "to open, select an alternate program with or without translation." The only choice listed there was Microsoft Word. I was unable to list any other choice, & this one availed no solution. I've tried to change "application program to something they COULD find, but NG results - always this roadblock. Frustrating! Bob Crawford (on my iMAC)

It sounds like you don't have a decoded copy of StuffIt Expander, which leads to a chicken-and-egg problem (since you usually need Expander to decode files). One way around this problem is to have Internet Explorer decode Expander for you, another is to have your email program do the decoding. For instructions see this page:
