I would recommend unchecking "Use Internet Config" in the General section of Preferences and checking "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" in the Firewall section of Preferences. Does that help?

Jim,
I tried your suggestion and didn't have any luck. Any others?

Jim,
I tried your suggestion. I don't get the error any longer, but the file list just never comes up. In fact, the connection eventually just times out.
It may be a very large file list; perhaps this is causing some problems.

I'd recommend posting the contents of the Fetch Transcript window (or emailing them to support@fetchsoftworks.com) after the file list does not appear. Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu to reveal it.
Thanks,

The transcript shows Fetch still sending the PORT command, which means that "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" is unchecked. What does the transcript look like if it is checked?

I am using Mac OS X 10.1, and while I seem able to connect, I never recieve a file listing. I instead get this message:
Only client IP address allowed for PORT command.
I am not sure what this means, and I didn't see it in the faq (or in a search). Please help?
Thanks,
Eve
