Open Transport Error Number -3155 (2 posts)

    I hope someone can help me! I have a cable modem, an iBook running Jaguar with an Airport Card inside and a LinkSys wireless router talking to the AirPort card. Everything works fine (e-mail, browser, etc.) except that I can't connect to ANY ftp site at all.

    My FTP connections get as far as "Getting file list" but then I get this message:
    "Open Transport Error Number -3155"

    Anyone have an idea? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    The following message also helped me. I found it (of course) after I posted.

    "I'd recommend checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" in the Firewall section of Preferences."

    I clicked the check box to turn on PASV and problem has been solved. I hesitated to do this initially simply because my domain host says NOT to. Oh, well. Thanks to those that posted. It helped when I had really important work to upload on a deadline! THANKS! :)
