75% of the time when I right-click to rename a file the rename dialog box shows, I make my alterations, click OK then fetch insists on making a copy of the file to my desktop while also renaming the file.

The same thing happens when I attempt to delete a file.

Any one else experience this problem?

That sounds like Fetch is detecting a double-click. I will see about having Fetch not treat a right-click as part of a double-click.

    Thanks,

If a fix is possible, please enact it ASAP as I am about to quit using fetch altogether because of this issue.

I hear you. In the meantime, does slowing the double-click speed for the mouse (in the Mouse pane of System Preferences) make this happen less often?

    Thanks,

The speed of the right-click does not matter. I've experienced this in every version of Fetch 4 (and even reported it many many months ago).

Choosing 'rename' from the menubar does not have this problem (too bad there is no keyboard shortcut for this). Using Control-Click to activate the contextual menu does not have this problem. Its only a right-click issue.

Thanks for the clarification. One more question: are you running Mac OS X?

    Thanks,

Has this issue been looked into yet.!?!? :-(

Today I am throwing up my hands and looking for a new FTP client because of this issue.

I am working on it, but a new release is not expected soon. I did not hear back from darien -- are you using OS X?

    Thanks,

Yes I am on OS X 10.2.5. Am using a Logitech Scroll Mouse with latest driver if that has any bearing.

I don't know if using the Logitech is an issue, but it's good information to have. Thanks for the report.

Yes, this issue only presented itself with OS X. However, I recently had to perform a fresh install of Jaguar (10.2) and then an update to 10.2.6. I am also using a Logitech mouse (and their driver) but the problem described above doesn't seem to be happening.

I've tried to reproduce it on several OS X machines running 10.2.6 here (and Fetch 4.02 and 4.03) to no avail. It has disappeared.
