When I connect to an FTP site, the file I want doesn't display properly, and I cannot download it. Here is what displays:
    Name: --AR--M----TCP B ematusr2 16008 41610 Apr 26 11:06 94680282.zip

    Kind: PC ZIP Archive

    Size: -

    Date: -

I am unable to download this file; when I click on GET, it says something like the file isn't found.

I tried going to the same site using Vicomsoft FTP Client, and it displays properly and I can download it:

    Name: 94680282.zip
    Size: 41K
    Date: Mon, Apr 26, 2004
    Time: 11:06 AM
    Permissions: -AR--M---...
    Links: B
    Owner/Group: ematusr2/16008

I would like to use Fetch if I can get it to work. Couldn't find any mention of this problem in the FAQ. Please help!

Try Refreshing the file list a few times -- that should correct the name display, and let you download the file. Let me know if that isn't the case.

    Thanks,

Sorry, refreshing didn't help. I refreshed (using the apple key with the letter "r") numerous times over several minutes, with no change.

If you want to try the site yourself, you can contact me via my email address.

For anyone with the same problem, the solution, courtesy of Jim Matthews:

Instead of highlighting the filename line and clicking on "GET" (which didn't let me change the filename), I needed to highlight the filename line then hold down OPTION key, which changed "GET" into "GET...". When I click on "GET..." I can change the filename to just the name of the zip file with none of the other junk.

As an alternative, I can just click on "GET..." instead of highlighting the filename, and then fill in the filename manually.

Jim was able to reproduce the problem by going to the same server; he said this server is very non-standard! Fortunately he had this workaround....
