I recently downloaded a "trial" version software for a message board. I've transfered the files to the server using Fetch and when trying to set my permissions on certain files I added to the server I am getting this error:
Server response: Permission denied on server. (chmod)
Any suggestions? Does my service provider need to do something to let me set permissions? They don't seem to know. I'm on a Mac and using OS X.

Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you get the error? It could be that the server does not allow FTP clients to change file permissions. You could ask the service provider if that's the case.

    Thanks,
