Powerpoint pptx file download (3 posts)

  Can anyone tell me why when someone posts a pptx file (Microsoft Powerpoint 2007 in windows) to my ftp site and I download it to my Macbook Pro it comes as a folder NOT a single pptx file? It downloads just fine on my Dell windows machine when I use SimpleFTP.

  Don't know why, but the same thing happened to me. I used Cyberduck instead and it downloaded it correctly. It is slower, but I needed this file.

  Hi sloannyc,

  This problem can be fixed in Fetch 5.3 by doing the following:

  * In Fetch, go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
  * Click the Download tab.
  * Uncheck the "Allow automatic decoding of downloaded files."

  The next version of Fetch will automatically know not to decompress .pptx files (and other Microsoft Office 2008 files). We apologize for the inconvenience.
