Problem with moving files between remote directories (2 posts)

Periodically I have to move a large amount of files (00) between 2 directories on a server I connect to.
I know i can clone the connection window and nav to the other directory I need to get to. But I am wondering if there is a way, command, etc to send all of the files to the other directory in one fail swoop without dragging and dropping.
I am not able to drag more than a couple hundred at a time without the program freezing up on me.

    Any help is appreciated,
    Thanks,

    Curtis

    Hi Curtis,

The Mirror feature of Fetch may do what you want. You can use it to automatically copy all the new or changed files from one folder to another - you don't need to select the files individually and drag them. If you are always dealing with the same two folders, you can save the setup in a Mirror document so that you don't have re-choose the folders each time.

For more information, read the Mirror window introduction and Mirroring a local folder to a remote folder help topics in Fetch Help for more information (click on the links to see the topics).

They mostly talk about mirroring a local folder to a remote folder, but the procedure for mirroring remote folders to other remote folders is similar. The help topics are written for Fetch 5, but the Fetch 4 Mirror window is similar.

Let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
