    Hi,

What are you hoping to use Fetch for?

Transfer large files between ftp sites.

When you open Fetch you'll see a New Connection dialog, with fields for the Hostname, Username and Password of the FTP account you want to connect to. Fill in those fields and click Connect to open a connection.

To transfer files between two FTP sites you'll want to then open a connection to the second site by choosing "New Connection" from the File menu.

Once you have opened connections to both sites, drag files between the two windows to transfer the files between the two sites.

If you have questions, look for the round purple help button with the question mark in it, or choose Fetch Help from the Help menu.

    Thanks,

What sort of Mac do you have, and what version of Mac OS X are you running? Do you get an error message?

    Thanks,

It sounds like Fetch is crashing when you open it. What version of Mac OS X do you have? You can find out by choosing "About this Mac" from the Apple menu.

    Thanks,

    5.5.2

I don't know why 5.5.2 would not work, but I would recommend downloading Fetch 5.7 from http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/download

    It's a free upgrade from 5.5.2.

    Thanks,

The next step would be to send us your Fetch.log file. Here are the instructions for finding it:

    1) In the Finder, choose Home from the Go menu
    2) Open the Library folder
    3) Open the Logs folder
    4) Look for a file named "Fetch.log"

You can submit that file at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback . Ask for Jim.

    Thanks,

Do you see a file named system.log? If so, could you send that one?

    Thanks,

Don't see that one either. Could it be fsck_hfs.log?

I'm sorry, system.log is found in a different folder. To find it:

    1) Choose Go to Folder... from the Go menu in the Finder
    2) Enter:

    /var/log

    and press Go

    Thanks,

I'm having the same issue. Mac OS 10.6.8, Fetch 5.7. Did you ever resolve this issue with the previous poster? I can't open the installer either.

    Hi Joe,

No, I don't think we heard from the previous poster. Could you follow the instructions I gave her? I'll take a look at the log files and see what I can figure out.

    Thanks,
