Fetch 5 does not have the "Translate ISO Characters" option that Fetch 4.0.3 had. We are thinking about bringing it back in a future release. The other option is for you to use software on your Mac that can handle files in the ISO Latin 1 character set, for example TextWrangler (which is free) or BBEdit.
Thanks,

Thanks for the quick answer. Textwrangler solves my problem so far.
But it would be nice if you think over to bring back the feature of Translate ISO. It's been quite helpfull and users like me are used to it.
Thanks again. -

Yes pease do. Bring back 'translate ISO characters'. The companies I do business for do not want to upgrade their FTP clients to fetch 5.0. As a result I have to stay with your version 4.0. Bummer!

After having upgraded to fetch 5.0 or 5.0.1 textfiles beeing uploaded didnt transfer german spezial characters like ä, ö, ü.
I'm using a Cube with System OSX 10.4.1.
Befor I used fetch 4.0.3 which still works perfect!
I couldnt find any preference-button which solved my problem.
By the way: the problem with 5.01 an the long time to open the preferences occured as well, but was correctes by using 5.0 again.
Can anybody find some answers for me?
