    I keep trying to connect to the server. I am certain that all the information is correct (hostname, username, psw). I have accessed the server before and did not have any problems. Now I am trying to connect again and Im using my keychain information so i know that I have not changed anything. I have asked the IT guy and he has no clue. Help me please! When Im connecting a sign come down that says "An FTP connection to "server address" (by way of proxy server "") could not be opened because the type of proxy server you have specified in the preferences requires more information. Check your settings in the Proxy pane of the preferences)

    Hi Stephanie,

    Most likely, you do not need to use a proxy server, and should just set Fetch to not use a proxy server.

    Please try the following to see if it fixes the problem:

    * Choose Fetch > Preferences
    * Click the Proxy tab (Fetch 5 or later) or Firewall tab (Fetch 4)
    * Check to make sure the "Proxy type" pop-up menu is set to "None". If it's not, choose "None" and try connecting again.

    Let us know if that doesn't solve the problem.

    Thanks,

    Thank you for getting back to me Scott. I did as you said. It was not already on "None" not sure why but I changed it to "None." Now I am getting a screen that pops down saying "An FTP connection to "server addy" could not be opened because the connection timed out. I have full internet strength and am connected to the internet using other pages with a quickness and no issues. I have been trying a few times now and it just keeps popping that message down. I know thats obviously for my internet connection?! But, I am getting a little annoyed with the product. I've used it one time and have had it for a week or 2 after that I have had nothing but issues. Ive had to download an additional FTP server - kind of annoyed that I have paid for this and its not working.

    Hi Stephanie,

    I'm sorry you're still having difficulties. As you can see we do respond promptly to try to help get things working as soon as possible.

    Unfortunately we cannot diagnose the problem without more information, because that error could be caused by any number of things. To help further, we need to see a transcript - the record of Fetch's conversation with the server - so we can see why the connection is failing.

    Here's what to do:

    * Quit Fetch.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Try connecting to your server.
    * After you receive the error, go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
    * Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.

    Or, if you are not comfortable posting that information on the message board, please send the transcript to bugs@fetchsoftworks.com and we'll take a look.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
