Put files not showing in public folder (5 posts)

    My site apears to be working, but the files that I've "put" are not showing up anywhere in Fetch. My index page was showing up but the next time that I submitted changes it dissapeared.

    I've also been trying to replace a pdf for download (4.5MB) but it stops at 500kb everytime and the dog just keeps running. Pretty sure I'm out of space, but I can't delet the files becuase I can't see them.

    I've tried toggling the "use passive mode transfer" in the "general" tab of the preferences and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

    Suggestions? thank you!

    Hi Sarah,

    It does sound like you might be out of space, or your server might be having problems. We'll try to help diagnose the problem.

    Are none of your files showing up in the Fetch file list, or just the new ones you upload?

    Please do the following; it may help with files not showing up, and the information you send us will help us advise about the other problems.

    * Quit Fetch.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Go to the Fetch menu, and choose Preferences.
    * Click the Miscellaneous tab.
    * Click the "Ignore file list cache" checkbox to check it.
    * Close the Preferences window.
    * Connect to your server.
    * Try uploading your index page again.
    * Then go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
    * Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.

    We'll take a look and try to figure out what's going on.

    Hi Sarah,

    Thanks for the transcript. That's pretty odd; the server is confirming that your index.html file was uploaded to the public_html folder successfully, but when Fetch asks the server to lists all the files in the folder, the server says there are no files.

    This looks like a server problem; I would recommend you contact the company or people who run the server for assistance.

    Cool! It worked for me... I had the same problem, and then after managing my prefs, and restarting Fetch according to instructions above, I was able to see the folders/files that my clients has just uploaded.
