Question on Path Specification (2 posts)

I hope there is a simple path specification to take me where I need to go.

I am “user1” on the system. Fetch reasonably enough dumps me into

    /home/user1/

Where all my site files are is

    /var/www/html/

Which of course is where I want my shortcut to take me

What path specification should I use?

    Hi Ted,

If you already know how to navigate to the folder where your files are, then you should navigate to it, and once you are in that folder, do the following:

    * Make sure nothing is selected in the file list
    * Go to the Shorctuts menu and choose New Shortcut.

Fetch will then fill out the New Shortcut dialog with the information, including path, necessary to get back to that folder. You can just give the shortcut a name and save it, and you should be all set.

If you don't know how to navigate to the folder you want, and entering /var/www/html does not do it, you should check with the people who run your server; we do not know exactly how the folders are set up on your server (each server is different) so we can't tell you exactly what you need to use or how to get there.

Please let us know if you have further questions.

    Thanks,
