    Hi,

Could you please tell us the address of one of the webpages with the problem?

We'll take a look at it and see if we have any advice.

    Thanks,

That is one page with the problem. I dont think the problem is that they are too big because they are compressed to only 2 megabytes. Oh and I didn't write that text in case you think that I'm kind of a weirdo (my friend wrote it). I have been informed that the file might not be where the computer is looking for it. What should I do if this is the problem? Oh and thanks for replying, you guys have good customer support.

    Hi,

It looks like you're using iWeb to create the webpage, is that correct?

I think there may be two problems here.

First, your movie files have spaces in their names. I've just done some testing with iWeb, and if you have spaces in the filenames of movies, the QuickTime movies will not show up properly in your webpages. (This appears to be a bug in how iWeb creates the webpage code.) So you should rename all your movies so that they do not have spaces in their filenames. You may have to re-add the movies to your iWeb project after renaming the files; open up iWeb and make sure the movies still show up and play properly in iWeb.

Second, it also appears that the movie files are not where the webpage thinks they are - even once I knew the filename of the movie, it was not where the webpages said it was.

After you use iWeb's "Publish to Folder" command, it's very important to not rearrange or rename any files before or after you upload. You need to upload all the files exactly as iWeb publishes them. If you made any changes to the names or locations of files, or didn't upload some of the folders iWeb created, you should try again.

So I would: rename your movies to remove spaces from their filenames, make any adjustments in iWeb necessary, do "Publish to Folder" again from iWeb. Then, before you upload, delete the webpages that are the server currently. Then upload everything exactly as iWeb published it.

    I hope this helps,

Sounds good to me! I'll do that. I hope its just as simple as the spaces in the names. What I've noticed though is that when I publish to a folder when you open up the folder there are no quicktime files in them. Are there supposed to be? Well I'll try doing what you said. It sounds like it will work. Thanks.

    Hi,

Yes, when you publish to a folder, the QuickTime movies should be in one of the subfolders. For instance, if you have a page named "Xtra Clips", the movies should be in the folder "Xtras Clilps_files" after you publish to a folder.

Hi, I renamed everything and republished and uploaded it all twice now. It's not working. try going to http://www.thepwnagecrew.com. If that doesnt load then search thepwnagecrew on google and click the first link. It seems to be even worse than before because now pretty much nothing works even though everything is uploaded right (or else it looks that way). Could you check it out and suggest something please? Thanks.

Ok another question. I figured out that Fetch is zipping all my movies to StuffItX files. how do I turn this off? It is very frusterating.

    Hi,

Not all the movies are broken; the "horror" movie and "fingers" movies from the Videos page are working, it looks like.

On the Welcome page, the webpage is looking for a movie titled "praise.mov" that should be in the "Welcome_files" folder. As far as I can tell, that file is not on the server.

If you look in the files that iWeb created when you used Publish to Folder, do you see a movie with that name in the "Welcome_files" folder? If yes, when you connect with Fetc, do you see a movie with that name in that folder on the server?
