Really Basic FTP, I forgot the format for locating my files. (2 posts)

  I have not used Fetch to upload to my family tree site for over a year and I lost my notes. Usually I go to: Get files in the upper tool bar. A box opens and I type: ftp:// (and the rest) My problem is I forgot "the rest." Is it hostname/username/password? I thought there were some :s in it too, or is it all /s? Can your send me the proper format? Thanks, Brenda

  Hi Brenda,

  You are describing the format of an FTP URL, which is ftp://username:password@hostname/path . But you should not need to type an FTP URL to upload files with Fetch. To download files, select them in the file list and click the Get button. To upload files, click the Put button and choose the files to upload.
