Recover files? (2 posts)

When I signed on to Fetch for the first time, I somehow uploaded the entire contents of my computer, which I did not want to do. When I began deleting files from what I thought was just the Fetch program, they were deleted from my computer, as well! They're not in my trash. Are they gone forever??? Of the ones I know about so far, some of the deleted documents are extremely important. Is there anyway to recover these?? Thank you!!

We are very sorry to hear that some of your files have been deleted.

However, we are puzzled, because it is really extremely difficult to delete files on your Macintosh using Fetch. It can only delete files on the server that you connect to, it does not delete local files.

If you could describe to us exactly what you did, we may be able to figure out why this happened. Also, could you please tell us exactly what is entered into the "Hostname" field before you clicked on the Connect button in the Fetch New Connection dialog?

While we are not file recovery experts, if you have deleted files on your Macintosh, they are most likely not easily recoverable. I'm sorry, I wish I had a better answer for you. There are some software products out there that may be able to recover them if you do not have a backup.
