    Hello,

I have tested uploading russian characters in raw data setting. The result has been the same garbled output as using automatic.

A test upload from Russia worked perfectly. Could there be something amiss in the Mac OS itself? Assuming fetch does not do the garble on russian text, which seems logical.

These types of problems are seen commonly by Russians.

If you use Raw Data Fetch won't change the contents of the file at all. So the problem may be that you are using different encodings on the Mac and on the other side, and you need to translate between those two. I don't know offhand about utilities for making that conversion, but perhaps others do?
