Yes, support for sftp and FTP over SSH is planned for the next major update to Fetch.
Thanks,

Can you speculate as to WHEN this might occur, Jim?
We're all depending on you to save us from the high cost of VPN (Virtual Private Network) installations. <grin>
Any ideas as to when the upgrade (with the SFTP capability) might be ready?

I am shooting for late this year or early next year.

Does anyone know of a SECURE FTP program? Perhaps the skilled folks at Fetch Softworks can include an SFTP (FTP over SSH) option in the next version?
I need to be able to send (upload) data to my Linux Web server without sending the password and username in the "clear". I can use a secure (SSH) Telnet program, but there doesn't seem to be any secure FTP programs.
FWIW, there's a new book out on this Mac security stuff, called "Internet Security for the Macintosh", by Alan Oppenheimer (PeachPit Press), that discusses the problem.
I need secure FTP!!
