  how can i verify my authentication is correct for I have not used fetch for a couple years and had my info written down
  but now it doesn't work ? I am also on a new computer from initial set up and download can that be the problem ?

  You should contact whoever runs the server that you're trying to connect to (e.g. your web hosting company) and have them confirm your FTP login information.
