I would try changing the setting of the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" checkbox in the Firewall section of Preferences. Does that help? If not, could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window (choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu to open it) after you see the problem?

Hi there:
I am using Fetch 4.0.3 trial version on Mac to upload some files and I am using an FTP connection for the first time in Mac OS 9.0 connected in a LAN. I have downloaded the trial version today and not able to connect. I get an error saying "Server responce: can't open data connection". I am on satellite connection. I have been using this website connection on PC and it is working fine. I have also checked the connection information thrice and entered again and agian. I will appeciate your help. I am not sure about the port connection on Mac and don't know how to set it. I am working in a LAN of 4 pcs and 1 Mac. Looking forward for you help. Please e-mail me at rzaidi1@yahoo.com
