Server response: ST not understood. (7 posts)

    Whenever I try to upload or download multiple files I get one or both of these responses: "Server response: ST not understood." or "Server response: TR not understood." I get this same response from all servers, not just one specific one. Also, I just changed my DSL provider from DIRECTTV broadband to SBC Yahoo! I called SBC and they said to just reinstall Fetch, which of course, didn't solve the problem. Any clues?

    Could you post the contents of the Fetch Transcript window after you see the error? Choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu.

    Apparently the server is getting out of sync with Fetch. I've seen that using the PORT command through a router doing Network Address Translation. You might try checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box in the Firewall section of Fetch Preferences -- does that help?

    Right on! That solved it.

    That's funny because I was just looking in the preferences and I saw the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)", but I didn't know exactly what it did, so I didn't check it. Anyway, everything's working fine now. For furture reference, the modem/router I'm using is from 2Wire.

    Anyway, thanks a lot for your help!
