Could you post a transcript of a session when you try to access those files? Changes made with Set Permissions should be permanent. Set Upload Permissions only lasts until you disconnect.

Hmm, that transcript does not show the permission error that you mentioned. Are you still getting that error?
-

Yes, it still will not save my permissions, nor can I view my file.

Could you post a transcript from a session when the permission error occurred?

I see the Set Permissions command, which apparently is succeeding, but I don't see any permission error. When do you get the error?

I get the error when I go to the URL of my web site. I get a message from the ISP, Javanet.com, an error page, saying that I do not have permission to view the site.

I apologize for being so slow in understanding the problem!
The problem doesn't really have to do with permissions. The web server expects there to be an index.html file in the public_html directory, and not finding one, it says you don't have permission to see what is there. You can see your site with this URL:
http://users.javanet.com/~suvius/East%20of%20Eden%20website/
You probably want to move everything in the East of Eden website directory up a level. In Fetch 4.0 you can do that by dragging the files to the folder icon above the file list.

I just tried this on my own server and have to say WOW! What a time saver!

Fetch does not save my settings for 'set permissions' or 'set upload permissions.' Consequently, when I upload files for my website, I get a message from my ISP saying that I don't have permission to access that file.
