Hi Lauri,
We're sorry to hear your shortcuts disappeared, obviously, that is not supposed to happen.
Unfortunately there may not be anything we can do, but if you send us your shortcuts file we'll take a look and see if anything can be recovered. Please do the following:
* Quit Fetch.
* In the Finder, go to the "Go" menu, and choose "Home"
* Open the Library folder
* Open the Preferences folder
* Find the Fetch Shortcuts file.
* Email that file to bugs@fetchsoftworks.comWe'll take a look.
Also, which version of Mac OS X are you using?
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hi Lauri,
Never mind, I see you also contacted us by email and sent a file. We'll follow up with a reply via email.
Thanks,

The same exact thing happened to me. I've had my shortcuts for years and suddenly when I came back from the weekend they are all gone. And unfortunately I don't have back-ups to any of them. Why did this happen and how can I prevent it from happening again?

I have followed up with Kirsten via email, but to answer her questions here as well:
Fetch 4.0.3 was first released nearly seven years ago, and was superseded by Fetch 5 four years ago, so Fetch 4.0.3 is now quite old. While it mostly works fine on Mac OS X 10.5, recently we have received a couple of other reports about Fetch 4.0.3 shortcuts mysteriously disappearing from users running Mac OS X 10.5. So it appears there may be a rarely triggered bug in Fetch 4.0.3 that causes shortcuts to disappear on current versions of Mac OS X. While we continue to provide support by answering questions about Fetch 4.0.3, we are not claiming that it is fully Mac OS X 10.5 compatible.
Our current version of Fetch, version 5.5, is fully updated for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) as well as Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). Among many other improvements and new features, we have completely redone how shortcuts are saved and opened, using more modern methods.
So our recommendation for preventing this in the future is that anyone running Fetch 4.0.3 on Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.4 should upgrade to our latest version, Fetch 5.5. Users of previous versions of Fetch can upgrade for only $10 (and if you purchased a Fetch license after January 28, 2009, you qualify for a free upgrade). You can upgrade using the form at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/upgrade .
For more information about Fetch 5.5, please visit http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/ .

Using Fetch 4.0.3
All my shortcuts have disappeared. There one day and gone the next. Haven't upgraded anything recently. Any ideas?
Thank you.
