It should not take nearly that long (an empty T-1 line can transfer a file that size in less than 2 minutes). Is the bytes-sent number increasing any, or is it stuck? Do you see the same problem with smaller uploads?
Thanks,

It is stuck, no progress. Yes, same problem with smaller uploads. Could this be a password problem? I have no problem accessing the ftp site, navigating around it or deleting files from it. It's only a problem when I try to upload.

The most common cause for that sort of problem is a faulty modem or router that can't properly send lots of data to your ISP. You could try to confirm that diagnosis by trying to upload to a different server, and trying to upload with a different program; if those changes don't make any difference it's probably an issue with your modem/router (or possibly your ISP).
You can connect to ftp.fetchsoftworks.com (leave the User ID and Password fields blank) and upload in the incoming folder (ignore the permission error) as one test. And you can try a different FTP client, like Interarchy, to see if it has the same problem.
I hope this helps,
