I can't think of a reason (other than random chance) why the content of a file would dramatically affect its upload speed. As far as Fetch and the server are concerned, the file contents shouldn't matter.
Is it always the same files that are slow?

Hi Jim,
thanks for the reply.
Yes it has been consistently one file. I remade the files (out of Aperture) but it continued to slow down when it got to this file. Others are slow too.

Could you upload this file, and a similar-sized file that doesn't have the problem, and then choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents (here, or at http://fetchsoftworks.com/fetch/feedback). That additional information might help illuminate what is going on.
Thanks,

Jim,
sorry to have been so slow in responding. I'm starting to do some upgrading on my site and I'm finding that uploading any .js files created by JuiceBox are causing the upload to really hang. I've tried the same files with another ftp client (Flow) and I'm not seeing any slowdowns.
Here's an example page : http://www.grantsymon.com/c/presidentwilson2.html
Any ideas?

Hi,
As I mentioned above, it'd be helpful to see the transcripts of the transfers in order to troubleshoot this problem.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm in the process of re-doing large parts of my site and I'm having some problems with certain jpeg files that are being uploaded. The upload speed is suddenly dropping on certain files and I've had failures too. These files have accented characters in the IPTC Caption field. Could this be causing a problem, if not, what might it be? (Once the files have finally uploaded, they display fast, with no problems, in a browser).
