    hi
ive always been able to use FETCH jsut fine, until yesterday when i got my new router!!!
    now i cant upload anything!
i called the router tech support & they said that i needed to "specify the port numbers" for fetch in the router settings.
ive never had to do this before & i have no idea where to find the port numbers but i'll be in trouble with work if i dont upload today!

It sounds like they're asking you to configure the router firewall, but usually that is not necessary. Could you try uploading again, and then choose "Fetch Transcript" from the Window menu and post the contents? That may offer clues to the problem.

    Thanks,

I would try choosing "Preferences..." from the Customize menu, clicking on the Firewall tab, and checking the "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" box. If that does not work, could you post the transcript?

    Thanks,

    hi there
i checked "Use passive mode transfers (PASV)" in the preferences, & i'm still not uploading.

each time the status circle shows that its BEGUN to load.... the file appears on the server as zerok, & then never goes anywhere from there.

this is a 400k file & i left it runnning overnight....this morning, its still not on ther server...& i have DSL!

this is the transcript from the FETCH session.

    TYPE I
    200 Type set to I
    PORT 192,168,0,101,196,180
    200 PORT command successful
    STOR lotus_clover_hula_cdcover_fl.ai
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for lotus_clover_hula_cdcover_fl.ai

& it never gets past that.

    hi there

this is what it looks like when i BYPASS the router (ethernet to modem)

    TYPE I
    200 Type set to I.
    PASV
    227 Entering Passive Mode (65,110,91,69,9,224)
    STOR c_turlington_01.jpg
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for c_turlington_01.jpg.
Upload complete at 6/19/04 2:07:28 PM
    226 Transfer complete.

its successful when i do that.
should i try to get a different router?

I'd try hooking up the router again. The first transcript you posted was with "PASV" unchecked, so that may have been the problem.

    Thanks,
