STOU command? (4 posts)

Hi,
Here's the likely solution to the problem...
When you use the Put command in the new Fetch, change the setting of the "If a file already exists:" menu to "Replace existing file". Do not use "Pick a different name".
When this menu is set to "Pick a different name", Fetch sends an "STOU" command to the server (which asks the server to give your file a unique name to make sure it does not replace an existing file). Some servers do not support the "STOU" command, and give an error as a result.
Let us know if this does not fix the problem.
Thanks,

Hello,
This is my first post to the forum. Here is my story: I've used an older version of Fetch for several years and successfully uploaded 1000s of jpg files to my ISP to use in my auction ads. I recently bought my third Mac (a SUPER iMac this time) and downloaded the current version of Fetch. Over the last two weeks I successfully uploaded two batches of jpgs. No fuss. No problem.
This weekend I successfully logged into my account on my ISP and every time I attempted to upload a new image I got the following message "STOU command not implemented." This happened on multiple sessions with different new jpgs. Thinking the new files might be funky, I tried to upload a 2nd copy of an earlier file and the same thing happened.
Being a fairly intelligent (tho not technical) person I contacted my ISP to find out what's happenin'! Welll, they dunno. Aren't familier with "STOU" at all. Suggested I try another freeware ftp program, instead. Suggested I reinstall Fetch. (This is an established local outfit, but they're obviously PC-oriented!)
I said I would check with y'all first--does anyone know what is the problem, here?
I appreciate your help!
