Suffix mapping for uploads in 5 (4 posts)

I've looked over the help files and upgrade guides, and I've found the info box options to set a default format for downloading certain file types. I haven't been able to find an option for setting extension-based default formats for uploads, though. Has this been removed? Thanks.

There is currently no way to change the default upload format for a file name extension from within Fetch. Is there a specific situation where you could use that capability? I may be able to suggest a workaround.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the response. The problem I'm running into is that we generate text files with a custom extension for our content management system. When we upload on 'automatic', Fetch is processing them as binary. Before 5, we just use suffix mapping to set the extension. We can manually set the format, of course, but we'd really like to be able to keep the process as automated as possible.

You the files need to be uploaded in text format, or do they already have the correct line endings for the server? If the line endings are correct you should be able to upload them in binary format.

Another option would be to run MisFox and add a mapping for your custom extension that identifies it as text. Let me know if that does not do the trick.

    Thanks,
