The System cannot find the file specified. (2 posts)

  I am trying to delete a directory. When I try to do so I get this error:

  Fetch could not open the folder"XXXXXX" because the FTP server says that the requested item was not a folder or could not be accessed.

  If you entered a folder name or URL, check that it is correct. Server responded: "XXXXXX: The system cannot find the file specified."

  I think when I uploaded this file it had a space in front of the file name. I noticed it and took it out and uploaded the file again and it seems to work fine. But I cant delete this old one!

  Can anyone help?

  I would recommend holding down the Shift key and clicking the Delete button. You will be prompted to enter the name of the file to delete -- type it including the leading space.

  If that does not work I am afraid that you will have to ask your hosting company to delete the file for you.
