timeout trying to establish a passive mode data connection (2 posts)

  Hi, I'm having an issues trying to connect. I've tried toggling on and off the PASV checkbox in preferences but no luck. My firewall is off on my Mac. Also there is no issue connecting via fetch when I get off my specturm internet and use my mobile hotspot. Is this an issue of a spectrum firewall and if so do i need to add Port Forwarding to have this work?

  Hi,

  If you can connect using your hotspot that suggests an issue with your Spectrum connection. I would check whether it's possible to configure the Spectrum firewall to allow FTP (I had to change the settings on my Comcast cable modem to allow FTP). If that doesn't work I would contact Spectrum, or see if your hosting company supports SFTP, which typically does not have firewall issues.
