Two issues with Fetch 5.2 (6 posts)

I am running Fetch 5.2 on an Intel MacBook, OS X 10.4.9.

    Two issues:
    1) Fetch is unbelievably faster when in the background as opposed to the foreground, which was mentioned in another thread. Downloading/uploading speeds are the same, but when working with many small files, the transfer window text just flies by, unlike when Fetch is in the foreground. This is especially apparent when using mirroring; mirroring takes forever when Fetch is in the foreground.

    2) I have a separate issue, which is the failure of Fetch to download a particular image. I have tried it with scp (command line) and Transmit. Here's what the Fetch Transcript says:

    SSH2_FXP_STAT 199, pictures/official/thumb4.jpg
Remote file thumb4.jpg modified 04/18/2007 07:06 PM, local file thumb4.jpg modified 04/18/2007 07:06 PM, will not download
    SSH2_FXP_STAT 200, pictures/official/picture1.jpg
Remote file picture1.jpg modified 04/18/2007 07:06 PM, local file picture1.jpg modified 04/18/2007 07:06 PM, will not download
    SSH2_FXP_STAT 201, pictures/official/picture10.jpg
Local file picture10.jpg is partial download, need to download again
    SSH2_FXP_OPEN 202, pictures/official/picture10.jpg
    SSH2_FXP_FSTAT 203

The particular file in question is picture10.jpg, and currently Fetch has been sitting here saying "Getting picture10.jpg as binary data / 32.0 of 165.3 KB." I can email this image if required. Trying to download the image using Fetch (instead of through a mirror document) does not work.

    Hi,

We have been investigating a fix for the slow downloading when in the foreground, and I am not sure why the image will not download, but we'd like to investigate that further.

Could you please re-send your message in an email to:

    bugs at fetchsoftworks dot com

and someone will follow up with you to gather more information so we can work on fixing these problems.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

It's an FTP/SFTP program for the Mac. If you don't have a Mac, or if you don't need an FTP client, then this forum shouldn't be relevant to you. Do you have a reason to use this forum?
