Unable to edit file (7 posts)

I am getting the error message: Fetch could not edit "style.css" because a file was not found. I am able to edit other files directly on the server, but not this css file. The file is on the server. I even downloaded the file, made a change offline and re-uploaded the file, tried again and received the same error message.

Any thoughts or ideas to solve this??

Thanks in advance for your help!!

    Hi,

I wonder if Fetch is having trouble finding the editor application. I would select style.css and click the Get Info button. What is chosen in the "Edit files like this with:" menu?

    Thanks,

I did that and verified that it was set to Dreamweaver, just like my PHP feel that open and edit just fine. If I rt click and chose edit with and choose Text Wrangler it will edit, but once I save and close, it won't reopen the file to edit from the edit button.

    Thanks,
    Jack

If you set the "Edit files like this with:" menu to TextWrangler, does the Edit button work then?

Tried that too. No go. What I did figure out last night, I was still running version 5.5.x, started the upgrade to 5.6 and again to 5.7. Crossing fingers that with the updates in place that it will "return to normal". I will try again tonight.

    Thanks,
    Jack
