To upload in ASCII mode choose "Text" from the format pop-up menu in Fetch. You can verify that it doesn't have weird characters by selecting the file in the Fetch file list (after you upload it) and choosing "View Text File" from the Remote menu.

Ok I tried that and when I hit view file I see the begining basedir path and it shows only the first line in the cgi script and nothing after that. Is that normal? Also I need to upload an .swf file in binary what's the correct way to do that? and last When I want to chmode a file I tried set from "upload permissions" and it wont let me set the code to 755 but then I tried selecting the icon after I uploaded it to the server and us "set permissions" and I'm able to chmode the files at least I think so.

It isn't normal to only see the first line of your script. Make sure you are selecting "Text" as the upload format.
To upload a .swf file you'd want to select Raw Data format.

ok I'll try that as well. But just want to make sure that when I need to upload a .swf file in binary use the raw text selection?
Do you guys have a phone number that the tech guy at my isp can call if I can't solve this?
thanks

For uploading .swf files you want Raw Data.
Telephone support is available for $5 at 877-505-2045.

Thanks for the help, I got it working now. I read a post back from 12/15/00 about dos, unix and mac ftp configs, used the fetch transcript and saw that the server was seeing the file on one line. I used bb edit and that fixed the problem.
thanks

I'm trying to upload a cgi script to my isp server. The tech people are telling me that my uploaded files contain wierd characters at the end. I'm on a mac and I was told by muyisp to upload the file in ascii. I show the file on the server yet iy doesn't see it. Any suggestions please.
