Hi,
No, Fetch has no problem in general with .xml files. So this is either a problem with your server or a problem with that particular .xml file.
We can investigate and try to determine the cause of the problem. We'd like some more information.
First, are you trying to upload the .xml file to the same folder that you've uploaded the .htm and .css files?
Second, could you please do the following?
* Quit Fetch, if it's running.
* Open Fetch again.
* Connect to your server.
* Try uploading the sitemap.xml file again.
* Go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
* Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hi, thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I am trying to upload the file to the same place as my index.htm and intro.htm files as google needs it to be in the root folder - so yes.
I have tried what you suggested but with no luck. I have pasted the transcript as requested.

Hi,
Thanks for the transcript.
What happens if you create a new file (it can just be empty, it doesn't have to be a real XML file), name it something like test.xml, and try to upload it to the same location?
And if that doesn't work, what if you try to upload a file named test.htm to the same location?
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hi Scott
SO i created both a text.htm and test.xml file and tried to upload it to the root but i got the same message. So I guess the good news is that it's not that fetch doesn't like .xml files. Do you have any ideas as to why I cant put new files onto this specific location?

Hi,
It looks like the problem is that the permissions on the root folder are set so that you cannot upload files there. If this is a change from before, I can't explain how or why that would have happened.
The next step is to contact the people who run the server (your hosting provider) and ask them to look into the problem and have them fix it (this is something that will have to be changed on the server, there's nothing you or Fetch can do about it).
Please let us know if you have more questions after talking to them.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Hi, I can't seem to upload my sitemap.xml to fetch. I get this message: Fetch could not put "sitemap.xml" because the ftp server encountered an error accessing a file or folder.
server responded: "sitemap.xml: permission denied"
All my other files i.e .htm .swf .css are all fine so i was wondering if fetch has a problem with .xml files. If anyone can help it would be a great help.
thanks.
