Thanks for that report; that's a bug that will be fixed in a future release of Fetch. In the meantime I would leave 'Use text mode for "Edit with BBEdit "Transfers' unchecked. It shouldn't be necessary in most cases.
Thanks,

Thanks Jim. The reason I like to leave the text mode option checked is that it seems to speed up saves when I'm working with html and perl files on the server. I think this is because modem compression is highly effective when transferring text files. I haven't done a test with a stopwatch to prove it, but it *feels* faster. ;-)

Text mode shouldn't be any faster. Text mode actually sends an extra byte for each line of the file, and the text data can still be compressed even if it's a binary mode transfer.
Text mode is necessary with certain exotic server operating systems, such as OpenVMS.
Thanks,

I'm using Fetch 4.0.3 on a PowerMac G4 running OS X 10.2.6. When I enable 'Use Text mode for "Edit with BBEdit" Transfers', it messes up the viewing of images with the "View as Media" function. Instead of showing the image, Fetch opens a little window, that looks to be the approximate width of the image, but instead of displaying the image, it displays the *code* for the image in white characters on a black background. When the 'Use Text mode...' option is not enabled, the images are displayed normally.
