Has anyone used Fetch with Amazon's S3 severs? We have switched servers to Amazon and they gave me a username and access key. Not sure how to access this server with Fetch. Thanks!

    Hi,

We're sorry, but Fetch doesn't support connecting to Amazon S3 servers at this time.

    Thanks,

Has there been any update on this (it's been over a year)? Is there an explanation as to why Fetch can't connect to S3?

No, there's no news to report. S3 support remains a goal for a future release.

    Thanks,

We are working on it, but there's no target release date to announce.

Have there been any progressions on this subject? I can get it to connect through the bridge on the Mind Term Java app. But I am unable to edit, add or delete files. Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    Jon

Me too! I love Fetch but I wish I could use it with S3.

Please add Amazon S3 support. Your competitor (C-------k) does.

It's already been three years since the original request. Fetch has become obsolete for me because development on new features like this are severely lacking.

I really do hope Fetch comes back to its former glory.

I apologize that it is taking so long, but we continue to work on a future release.

Since Cyberduck was mentioned I wanted to point out that it really blows. I've been having a lot of trouble using S3 with Cyberduck (timeouts, errors, bugs when retrying). Thus, I'm looking around and stumbled upon this thread.

    Another vote for S3 support!

I love Fetch, and am sad that now I have to find another solution since I've moved to Amazon.

Any release date yet for Amazon S3 support within Fetch?

    Posted 10 years ago #

  • Jim Matthews Administrator

No, we do not have a release date, but we continue to work on the next major release.

Add this company's name to making our lives easier and able to continue to use Fetch. We are moving to Amazon S3 and I find the mac options for software to access insufficient.

Simply use Firefox and the Free plugin to use ftp options with ease. Just google the plugin for firefox. I love it.
    Hope that helps some?

Yeah, am using that plug in now - its not as nice as a real ftp program and its glitchy as heck but it is serviceable. Just don't understand why Amazon S3 has to be such a pain in the.. butt. Case sensitive, won't work with popular ftp programs, etc. what is its story?

Fetch Softworks, despite what they say, is clearly not working on this. If they had been typing 1 character per day of code over the last 4 years, they'd be done by now. It's really sad that they're willing to string users along, instead of helping them out by being a little more upfront.

I agree that it's been a very long time. I'm working on Fetch every day, and I wish my progress was faster.

I recently bought Fetch as part of a bundle. Seeing it listed in the bundle reminded me of years ago when it was one of my workhorse apps and one of the main reasons I went for the bundle. Should've done some research first. Much of my work has long since moved to Amazon and Fetch still seems stuck in the 90s.

To read this thread, started FIVE YEARS AGO, makes me depressed. Seeing the staff replies declaring it "a goal for a future release" and "We are working on it" THREE years ago, and still having NOTHING to show for it is embarrassing.

It is embarrassing, and I am embarrassed. The only thing I can do is apologize, and continue to work on a version of Fetch that will have S3 support. If you need S3 support now, you should look at Transmit or Cyberduck.

    Thanks,

I would love to be informed when you guys have S3 support. Been using Fetch for... um... could it be 20 years now? It makes me sad when I have to use anything else.
