Using get command to retrieve an exact filename where the FTP directory is deliberately made invisib (3 posts)

I am accessing an FTP site where one is required to add the exact filename into a GET command window to retrieve the file - the directory is made invisible to browsers therefore you cannot click on a file name or drag/drop. The GET command is the only way to do it.
I have a greyed out get command when I reach the correct directory where the file is located - I know I put it there.

I recall many years ago one could activate a window for a GET command but now this option does not seem to be accessible - or I have missed the obvious; anyone here know the secret.

    Hi,

Holding down the Shift key changes the Get command to Get Other…, which prompts you for the name of the file to download.

    Thanks,

Ahh, great news. Thank you for this solution - Jim. This option rings a very feint bell.
    Cheers,
