I'm a virgin. I'm on a Mac. I find the folder I want then highlight it and click "Get File" . The dog runs. This takes a few minutes. I notice that the folder goes on my desktop.

Then I click "Put Files" and I highlight the file inside the folder that I want to upload. I then click "open". The dog runs, I check it on the net my changes are not there.

I'm so frustrated that I'm actually crying now.

    Can anyone help?

One thing to try is pressing the Refresh button in your web browser, so you know you're looking at the current version of the page.

The most likely explanation is that the location where you are uploading the file (with the Put command) does not correspond to the location where the web browser is looking. It might help to see what those locations are. To get the FTP URL for an item in Fetch, select it in the file list and choose Copy from the Edit menu. To get the HTTP URL for a web page, copy it from the Address or Location field in the web browser. If you could post those two pieces of information it might be helpful.

I suspect here is something you are not doing when you "check it on the net".

On a Mac, it isn't good enough to just re-enter the URL name, or press RELOAD on your browser. Instead, you must hold the shift key while you press RELOAD. Without the shift key, you get a repeat display of the same URL from your computer's cache, not a new display from your ISP site.

This deviousness was an exaspiration for all mac users. I'm not sure about PC users. So we all have had our cry time.

Try it, and you will be exhuberant and joyous. Please sing triumphally.

FYI - It's not necessary to click "Get File" or "Put File". I prefer just to drag the file I want into the fetch window (for uploads) or drag the file from the fetch window (for downloads). You can drag the file to the folder of your choice (or just to your desktop).

The dragging thing seems to be working. Thanks for your help everybody!
Sorry for the late response, but I was out of town.
