Hi,
You cannot use the View command in Fetch directly for those sorts of files, but you can set Fetch to open them automatically in Neo-Office (or Word) when you double-click on the files, which is pretty much about the same thing.
For step-by-step instructions for setting this up (it's not difficult), see the [ulr=http://www.fetchsoftworks.com/FetchWebHelp/Contents/Tutorial/OpenFilesAutomatically.html]Opening files automatically[/url] topic in Fetch Help (or just click the link here).
Please let us know if you have further questions.
Thanks,
Scott McGuire

Scott,
Thanks for the fast response. I have it set up that way already - which works great.
It's admittedly a very minor difference between what you suggest and seeing it in View mode, I was just curious if I was not finding some option that was there.
I like the neatness of of being able to view a bunch of files without later having to delete them - which saves me about 1 click of the mouse - but more importantly helps maintain the delusion of ruthless efficiency!

Hi Robyn,
You're welcome.
And youre right, it would probably be nicer if you could just use View and not have to delete files afterwards.
In fact, I filed a feature request in our database to that effect just after I answered you this morning, and we'll consider that request for a future version of Fetch (I can't promise it'll happen, but we will consider it seriously).
Thanks for the suggestion and feedback!
Best,

Scott,
Once again gotta say that its always impressive to get such fast feedback.
FWIW a great way to set it up would be based on the preview format already in Leopard ie pressing the spacebar for the selected file.
If it makes it into a future version in any form, I'll be telling anyone who'll listen about my "enormous" contribution
Cheers,
Robyn

Is there a way I can view neo-office and word files using View to preview them in a formatted
way?
I've tried to view them in edit mode with text wrangler as well, but they come through unformatted.
Thanks
