    I used to be able to make web galleries in adobe bridge and upload them via Fetch to my website and clients could view them. Now they do not show - only a white page. I compare the folders on the server with older uploaded web galleries and the more recent uploaded ones and they look to be the same, same
    structure, etc. The permissions are the same - 755. I can view the web galleries in Adobe Bridge before uploading them...but once they are uploaded, no dice. A friend of mine uploaded a web gallery using my settings - with her Fetch - and that did not work either. I can't think of anything that has changed, so no idea why the web galleries are not running. I have no trouble with PDF's or jpegs' etc. Adobe told me it was a permissions "thing" but the permissions seem to be okay - clicked on the folder that has the web gallery, went to "get info" and checked the permissions. Any ideas?

    Hi Martha,

    We'd like some more information to help figure out what's going on.

    Could you tell us the address (URL) of one of the problem web galleries?

    And could you please do the following?

    * Quit Fetch, if it's running.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Connect to your server.
    * In Fetch, open the folder of one of the problem web galleries.
    * Go to the View menu, and choose Refresh.
    * Go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
    * Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.

    Thanks,

    Hi Martha,

    Thanks for the transcript.

    Are you using Bridge CS4, or some other version of Bridge, to create the galleries?

    I've just tried creating a web gallery in Bridge CS4, and uploaded it to a test website, and it worked for me; and comparing it with what I see on your website, I don't see any obvious differences between yours and mine, or any obvious problems with yours. But for some reason, your main Flash file (gallery.swf) isn't loading properly.

    I'd be a little surprised if it was a permissions problem, but if you could do the following, I'll compare the permissions you have against the permissions my test gallery has:

    * Quit Fetch, if it's running.
    * Open Fetch again.
    * Connect to your server.
    * In Fetch, open the "commencement" folder.
    * Open the "resources" folder."
    * Go to the View menu, and choose Refresh.
    * Go to the Window menu, and choose Fetch Transcript.
    * Copy the entire contents of the transcript window, and paste them into a reply to this message.

    (Sorry to make you do this again, but I can't view your permissions through a web browser; the only way I can see them is if you show me the transcript output, and it turns out the really important stuff is inside the resources folder.)

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire

    HI Scott - thanks for your help - I came to the conclusion that there is a
    bug in Bridge and it is sometimes, sometimes not. So I have switched
    to Lightroom as I don't think that Adobe would be willing to fix Bridge. Why
    it "just" started happening I don't know.

    So...bought Lightroom and made two web galleries - unfortunately they do
    not advance as the slide show in Bridge used to do....but at least my
    clients can see them.

    I will write again IF these uploads from Lightroom get buggy.

    Thanks so much. Can't thank you enough. This has been arduous. Those
    slideshows looked awesome.

    Hi Martha,

    You're welcome, and thanks for the update. I'm a Lightroom user myself.

    Perhaps I misunderstand what you're looking for, but if you use the "Lightroom Flash Gallery" setting of Lightroom's Web module (select under "Engine" in the settings in the right-hand column), you will get an auto-advance feature in your slideshow, just like the ones in Bridge. The appearance of the Lightroom Flash Gallery may not be as customizable as the one in Bridge, although you can make some adjustments to it using the Template Browser in the left-hand column.

    Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

    Best,

    Scott McGuire

    I was having the same problem with bridge. Wish i would have known that before wasting 2 hours uploading all of the images just for the gallery to not work. Also having problems when uploading with fetch. uploads will just get stuck on "putting file" trying to determine if it's an isp issue, hosting issue, or fetch in general.

    Hi Huminuh83,

    I'm not sure if we can help with the Bridge problem, but we can probably help with uploads getting "stuck."

    Uploading stalling in the middle are usually caused either by your network equipment (router, wireless base station, or cable/DSL modem) or a problem with the server.

    Which version of Fetch are you using? One of the improvements in Fetch 5.5, our latest release, is that it detects stalled uploads and restarts them automatically, so there's a good chance it will fix those problems. If you're not using Fetch 5.5, you should give it a try and see if it fixes the problems you're seeing. And if it doesn't, or if you're already using Fetch 5.5, let us know and we can investigate and see if there's other things to try.

    Thanks,

    Scott McGuire
